Michigan Swing Place

Michigan Swing Place is a Lansing, Michigan lifestyle group built around recurring hotel takeover weekends rather than a fixed clubhouse: instead of running a standing venue, the group rents out a hotel for each event and turns it into a private party space for a few days at a time. It describes itself as having been started to give the Lansing swing community a second home, says it works alongside the area's other established clubs rather than competing with them, and draws members from across the United States rather than purely locally. Each takeover includes standard hotel rooms and suites along with a limited number of jacuzzi suites, plus access to the hotel's pool, and the group frames the atmosphere as comfortable and welcoming for both regulars and newcomers. An organizing crew is on-site from Friday through Sunday during event weekends to run the party and handle check-in. Recurring themed nights, including a jersey-themed meet-and-greet, a pajama-themed bar party, and a Little Red Dress mixer, run alongside free, lower-key meet-and-greet socials. Entry is oriented toward couples and single women: admission runs $25 for single women, $60 for couples, and $70 for single men, though single men are admitted only after being vetted directly by the organizers in advance, with no walk-up entry for unvetted single men. Meet-and-greet socials are free, with guests covering their own bar tab. First-time attendees complete a check-in form, and the specific hotel location for each event is disclosed only to ticket-holders after purchase, with guests asked not to share it publicly.
