Illuminaughty Portland is the local chapter of a national members-only lifestyle events network, hosting curated cocktail mixers and private play parties for couples and singles since 2023. Rather than operating out of a fixed clubhouse, the group rents out private residences around the Portland metro for each event — past parties have used a hillside home in the Goose Hollow Hills with skyline views, while cocktail mixers have taken place at bars and restaurants in neighborhoods like SE Buckman. The community skews toward couples and singles in their 20s, 30s and early 40s, and membership is free but requires an application; organizers describe the vetting process as intentional curation meant to keep the group welcoming, low-pressure and free of hired performers or influencers. Events fall into two main formats. Tease Cocktail Mixers are lower-key social gatherings held in a reserved area of a local bar or restaurant, typically running a couple of hours and used as a low-commitment way to meet other members before attending a party. Private parties, such as the recurring City Nights events, are held overnight at rented houses or upscale properties featuring multiple play spaces, massage tables, mood lighting and music, and sometimes amenities like a hot tub; venues are rated on the site using a sliding "Venue Vibe" and capacity scale, with most parties drawing roughly 30 to 100-plus members. Parties are BYOB, with mixers, non-alcoholic drinks, cups and champagne flutes supplied by the hosts, and the group's own security staff checks tickets and IDs at the door. Parties generally run Saturday nights from about 8pm to 2am with a strict arrival window (doors close roughly 90 minutes after opening for a mandatory rules-and-consent orientation), while mixers run shorter early-evening slots. Admission is ticketed and restricted to couples, single women, non-binary attendees, and a limited, gender-balanced number of vetted single men; the exact address of each rented venue is withheld until the morning of the event and sent only to confirmed ticket holders. Dress codes are enforced per event, generally cocktail attire or suits for larger parties and classy-casual for mixers, and refunds are typically available up to a matter of days before an event, minus a processing fee.
